Getting Started with Beginning Writers: Kindergarten & Grade One FULL

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity full

Join us as we explore a new resource that offers ideas, information, strategies and tips to show you step-by-step how to engage young writers in book making and answer such questions as:

How can I help my Kindergarten and/or Grade One students become writers?

How can I establish a routine for writing in my classroom?

Why is making books developmentally appropriate?

This workshop will focus on how you can launch a Writing Workshop framework in your classroom with beginning writers and provide many practical ideas and examples you can implement into your classroom teaching straight away!

*Each participant will receive a copy of A Teacher’s Guide to Getting Started with Beginning Writers.

**Please bring your laptop to the session.

About the resource from Heinemann: “If you’re a new teacher or new to writing workshop, A Teacher’s Guide to Getting Started with Beginning Writers will show you in clear and simple terms what to do to establish a routine for writing in your classroom, offering you vision, insight, and practical support. If you’re an experienced workshop teacher, it will help you imagine new possibilities.”
